M.Sc. ( Bioinformatics) Course: M.Sc. – Bioinformatics School of Life & Basic Sciences

Table of Contents

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field. It merges biology, computer science and information technology and is defined as an interface between the biosciences and the computational sciences. Arising out of the high demands for the need for information analysis, Bioinformatics is emerging very fast and the study of management in biology and biotechnology will help in dealing with the subject matter. Bioinformatics combines the tools and techniques of subjects like mathematics, computer science and biology to understand the biological significance of any data. A few of the main areas of bioinformatics are data mining, analysis of genome projects, and computer databases for biological research.
